Blue Balls

I recently picked racquetball back up and in the words of Loverboy, “I’m lovin’ every minute of it”. I joined the racquetball league at my local LA Fitness. We play for 2 hours every Monday and Wednesday. I was pretty rusty when I started back into it, but now I can hold my own. I just purchased a nice Head racquet. A Head Liquidmetal 170. It has helped me with my control and placement. I still have a long way to go I feel to be a serious competitor, but I look for that challenge every time I step onto those planks.

I am also grateful to all the new friends that I have made while playing in the league. The fella that runs the league is an incredible person as well as a player of the sport for 30 years plus. This opportunity has also introduced me to plenty of people to play with on the league off days, and I have been playing a lot of cut-throat with my neighbor and his buddies.

If you have not played in a while or never have, I truly recommend picking up a racquetball racquet and goggles and smack a few blue balls around. It is one of the best cardio workouts available. Burns more calories than aerobics, cycling or jogging.

Oh, and they now sell green, black, orange, red and purple balls if you don’t feel comfortable hitting blue balls.
